Microwave Technology Consulting (MTC) specialises in research & process development, equipment design and scale-up of microwave and radio-frequency heating and plasma applications from laboratory to industrial scale. With an in-depth understanding of industrial requirements, MTC is dedicated to understanding and optimising microwave-based applications to enable timely process development, from the basic R&I approach through to development, testing & optimisation, and lifecycle management.

As the leader of CARBOWAVE’s WP4, MTC participates in the design, construction and testing of the microwave furnace for PAN heating and carbonisation.

Dr. Marilena Radoiu

Dr. Marilena Radoiu, Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry (CChem), graduated with a Master Degree in  Technological Organic Chemistry from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest in 1993 and received a Ph.D. degree in Radiochemistry & Nuclear Chemistry in 1998 from the same university in collaboration with the Institute of Atomic Physics, Bucharest. She received an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Ecole de Management Lyon (EM Lyon) France in 2018. She is author or co-author of more than 60 publications in peer reviewed journals. She received the Rustum Roy Award (2016), AMPERE Medal (2019), thee award Femme de R&D of the Trophees des Femmes de l’Industrie (2019) and Irene-Joliot Curie award in 2023, section Woman, Research and Entrepreneurship (Femme, Recherche & Entreprise).

Dr. Radoiu has extensive work experience in different international academic and industrial environments. She has worked for more than 15 years in various countries (Canada, UK, France etc.) in the development of microwave-assisted technologies with applications to chemical synthesis, biomass extraction, plasma, food etc. Her work has included engineering and development of novel industrial and scientific standard and custom products, such as Zenith Etch and Sirius6000 (microwave plasma reactors for semiconductor gas cleaning), laboratory equipment such as MiniFlow 200 and Minilabotron 2000.

Dr. Radoiu is a fellow member of several professional associations, including the Association for Microwave Power, Education and Research in Europe (AMPERE).

Ariel Mello

Technical Director

MSc in Electronics, specialised in wave-matter interaction and electromagnetic wave propagation in industrial RF and microwave technologies. Showing skills in the field of research and development of new products and applications. His expertise involves microwave components such as tuners, couplers, power combiners; design of RF electronic boards (synthesizers, power regulation circuits); start-up and troubleshooting of electron tube applications (magnetrons, triodes, klystrons), automation design, embedded systems programming. Ariel has over 10 years of international experience in industrial project management.
